"Allah beautifully reminds us in the Qur'an that, "This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion" [al-Qur'an:5:3]
Allah describes this Deen as a 'favor' upon us. SubhanAllah while the world around us gets more and more engrossed in the Dunya, we put our head to the ground fives times a day remembering where we came from, remember who created us and where we have to go back to. While suicide rates go up, while little girls start to develop attachment issues and get hooked on boys and if its not boys then its drugs or parties or attention, while people waste thousands of dollars after pleasing others, Allah tells us to live simply, to be modest, to protect your honor, to just please Him and at the end of the day that's all that matters. While hearts across the world shatter, break, and feel empty day in day out no matter how many friends they have, no matter how many people surround them, Allah tells us only with His remembrance will we find peace and gave us this Book that fills hearts, the mends them, that heals them. So lets reflect, do we see this deen as a favor from Allah, as a blessing from Allah or as a burden?
