Bana gulab to kante chubha gaya ik shakhs
Hua chirag to ghar hi jala gaya ik shakhs

Tamam rang mere aur sare khwab mere
Fasana kah k fasana bana gaya ik shakhs

Main kis hawa main urun kis faza main lahraun
Dukhon k jal har-su bicha gaya ik shakhs

Palat sakun main na age barh sakun jis par
Mujhe ye kaun se raste laga gaya ik shakhs

Muhabbaten bhi ajib us ki nafraten bhi kamal
Meri tarah ka hi mujh main sama gaya ik shakhs

Wo mahtab tha marham-ba-dast aya tha
magar kuch aur siwa dil dukha gaya ik shakhs

Khula ye raz k aina-khana hai duniya
Aur is main mujh ko tamasha bana gaya ik shakhs
