The range for the debt & equity ratio is 60 : 40 where 60% is debt and
the 40% equity......and if a firm for example is 10% is using debt
that it mean the remaing 90% is the equity of the firm

2. Composition of equity:
as from accounting equation
assets= liabilities + owners equity then owners equity= assets -
liabilities or from the ratios we calculate as
total equity= total assets- total liabilities
