ایک جگنو مِری وحشت کا سبب ہوتا تھا
شام کے وقت مِرا حال عجب ہوتا تھا
اِک ستارہ تھا کہ روشن تھا رہِ امکاں میں
اِک سمندر، مِرے ادراک میں جب ہوتا تھا
میری وحشت مِرے ہونے کے حوالے سے نہ تھی
میرا ہونا میری وحشت کا سبب ہوتا تھا
ایک خوشبو تھی کہ آغوش کُشا تھی ہر وقت
ایک لہجہ تھا کہ تحسین طلب ہوتا تھا
ایک آہٹ تھی کہ ہر وقت مِرے دھیان میں تھی
اِک فسانہ تھا کہ سرمایۂ لب ہوتا تھا
اب وہ خوشحال زمانہ ہی نہیں ہے ورنہ
روشنی کا بھی کوئی نام و نسب ہوتا تھا
میں بھی ہوتا تھا نوید اپنے حوالے سے کبھی
اور ہمہ وقت سرِ بامِ طلب ہوتا تھا
