Position : Unix(Solaris) System administration
Location : Wilsonville, Oregon
Duration : 6-12 Months
Experience: Around 5+ years of UNIX experience with demonstrated experience and proficiency in managing and maintaining Sun Solaris environment.
Job Description / Responsibility
Installing, configuring and maintaining Sun Servers
Installation and configuration of HA environment using Sun or VERITAS Cluster.
Configuration and administration of Sun and Veritas logical volume manager.
Installing and Maintaining Solaris Jumpstart environment, different flavors of Linux OS.
Patch and Package administration
Printer Administration
Writing shell scripts to accomplish day to day system administration task
Configuring and supporting domain on Sun Fire Servers
Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue
Capacity planning and fine tune system for optimal performance
Understanding of SAN and NAS storage.
Installation, configuration and Administration of Netbackup environment
Administration of NIS or LDAP environment
Configuring Unix Security baseline
Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue .
· Provide day to day global operational activities for Storage and Backup/Recovery teams including administering storage array architecture, SAN infrastructure, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Enterprise Backup/Restore,AVAMAR, Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) and Archival and Retrieval
Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planning
Education:
Diploma – Any Specialization / UG - Any Graduate - Any Specialization / PG - Any PG Course - Any Specialization
Skills:
Samba / DNS / Sendmail / LDAP / Monitoring Tools (like BMC Patrol, HP openview, IBM Tivoli) NIS+
