[Pak Youth] MGT501 Human Resource Management

Mr. Ahmed is CEO of a company which produces soft-drink and fruit juices. The peak season of business is summer. The market of cold drinks always drops down in winter due to rise in demand of hot drinks like coffee and tea etc. In the coming off-season, surplus of almost fifty production-line employees is expected. These employees are highly trained and expert in their jobs. The problem faced by CEO is to bear additional cost of retaining same employees throughout the year but if laid off, it will be difficult to get them back as they might be hired by the competitors. Thus, it is also costly to replace them.

Requirement: You are required to suggest solutions to the CEO for this anticipated staffing dilemma. What ideas can you give to ensure that the services of skilled employees are available when needed?
